2026 GMC Canyon Upgrades Don’t Come Free

Earlier this month, pricing updates for the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado were uncovered, revealing a mild hike of between $200 and $900, depending on the trim. Now, GM Authority has gained access to the 2026 pricing of its more upmarket sibling, the GMC Canyon. Every trim is now more expensive, with the biggest increase at $1,400 and the smallest at $200. That’s not too tough to bear, but the destination charge has also increased from $1,695 for 2025 to $2,095 for the new model year, meaning that the smallest increase is effectively $600. Let’s take a closer look. Fortunately, these increases come with some subtle updates.

2026 Canyon Gets New Finishes

If you ignore that obligatory destination charge, the 2026 Canyon still starts below $40,995 at $38,900 for the Elevation 2WD (the only version that drives a single axle). This and the Elevation 4WD have become $900 pricier for the new model year, while the AT4 goes up by just a hundred bucks. The most luxurious version of the Canyon, the Denali, sees the heftiest hike with its sticker rising by $1,400. The AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition have risen by $475 and $765, respectively.

The 2026 GMC Canyon will reportedly be available with a new exterior color under paint code G42, Coastal Dune (one of seven options for the truck in 2026, listed below). This beige finish replaces Deep Bronze Metallic (paint code GXN), which has been available since the third-generation Canyon arrived for the 2023 model year. The only other change is also aesthetic, with two new 18-inch wheel designs set to become standard on certain trims.

A Few Other Subtle Changes

Alongside the new gloss black and gloss black machined wheels, the order guide also reveals that a new Nightfall Essentials Package and a Black Badging Package will be available later in the year. Door sill plates, an AEV-spec underbody shield made with boron steel, and a lift kit for the AT4X are also on their way. As before, the Canyon will be powered by the TurboMax 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 310 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque to the wheels through an eight-speed Hydra-Matic 8L80 automatic transmission. Towing capacity remains at an impressive 7,700 lbs.
