Jeep Drops Updated 2026 Grand Wagoneer

What we noticed during our first look at the 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Jeep has revealed its 2026 Grand Wagoneer, and judging by first impressions, the refresh is far from mild thanks to its Wagoneer S inspiration. The model, set for a fall 2025 release, has transitioned away from using Wagoneer lettering on the front in favor of Jeep badging. You’ll also find slimmer headlights that emit a sense of bold refinement. This presentation is complemented by the model’s updated, smaller seven-slot grille and lower mesh grille running uninterrupted across the front, flanked by two new T-shaped daytime running lights. The wheels shown in Jeep’s initial promotion of the model appear to be around 22”, and the front bumper is more angular than its predecessor. Despite the 2026 Grand Wagoneer retaining its signature large, boxy shape, its front makeover supplies a new look that’s a breath of fresh air.

Jeep is about to deliver on a promise from over a year ago with the 2026 Grand Wagoneer

It’s easy to miss at first glance, but it seems there’s a charge port just in front of the driver’s door, signaling the plug-in electric vehicle (PHEV) version’s arrival. Jeep first announced an upcoming PHEV Grand Wagoneer over a year ago, and the powertrain is said to be the same as the Ram 1500 Ramcharger, according to Carscoops. The Ram 1500 Ramcharger’s powertrain contains a liquid-cooled 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack, a 130-kilowatt generator, and a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, translating to 663 horsepower, 615 lb-ft of torque, and a 690-mile range. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe will be the brand’s first range-extender vehicle. Former Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa had said: “We have also renovated in the E-SUV segment with two strong MCA (Mid Cycle Action or Facelift), the Grand Cherokee, and in the large SUV segment, again the two very strong MCA, the Jeep Wagoneer and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, coming soon, helping the brand to enlarge the scope of competition from the current market coverage of 45% to future market coverage of 85%,” TopElectricSUV reports.

The UAW-Stellantis Hourly Highlighter agreement states that Jeep intends to keep the Grand Wagoneer in its lineup until at least 2028. Jeep will manufacture the 2026 Grand Wagoneer at its Warren Truck Assembly plant in Michigan, and the PHEV version’s starting price could easily exceed $100,000, given the 2025 internal combustion engine (ICE) model’s $84,945 base price. The automaker’s new CEO, Bob Broderdorf, didn’t hesitate to hype up the 2026 Grand Wagoneer: “This thing will blow customers away, with more power, new tech, new style, and more value,” MoparInsiders.

Final thoughts

Jeep hasn’t provided much information yet on the 2026 Grand Wagoneer, but its new preview of the model shows a refreshing appearance borrowing design cues from the Wagoneer S’ sleeker profile. This inspiration manifests itself in a front featuring crisper, more precise lighting shapes, and a lower mesh grille sporting a cleaner appearance—two elements that help balance the model’s signature boxy shape. Besides additional exterior refinement, Jeep fans can look forward to increased efficiency from the 2026 Grand Wagoneer’s range-extender version, a first for the brand.
