US Drivers to Pay Far Less for Toyota GR Supra Final Edition – But There’s a Catch

The fifth-generation GR Supra’s end is fast-approaching

Toyota has introduced its GR Supra Final Edition in Long Beach, California, marking the end of this generation’s production cycle. The US version, labeled the MkV, will cost significantly less than the Supra A90 Final Edition, which is exclusive to Japan and Europe. While this price difference is good news to those looking at the Supra Final Edition’s cost in markets like Europe that exceeds the MSRP of a new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, American buyers will have to settle for the MkV’s dialed-down performance compared to the A90.

The Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition will cost 15,000,000 yen ($101,787.73 at current exchange rates) in Japan and €142,800 ($156,478.57) in Europe. For the US, the GR Supra MkV Final Edition costs $69,085, including the $1,135 delivery fee. 150 A90 units will be sent to Japan and 150 to Europe, while 900 MkV models will be sent to North America.

What is the GR Supra MkV Final Edition?

The GR Supra MkV Final Edition sports distinctive design elements like new 19-inch matte black wheels, a gloss-finished carbon fiber ducktail rear spoiler, and gloss carbon fiber mirror caps. Additional exterior touches consist of a GT4-inspired side graphic and a matte-black rear Supra emblem. Noteworthy aerodynamic modifications include but aren’t limited to front wheel arch flaps and higher front tire spats, optimizing front/rear balance and downforce. This model’s cabin contains a genuine leather-trimmed driver’s seat in Alcantara upholstery with the GR logo, red seat belts, a gear shift knob with red stitching and highlights, a model-exclusive cupholder cover, and a camo car cover.

GR Supra MkV Final Edition drivers receive 382 horsepower with 368 lb-ft. of torque from a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. A six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission is available, and Toyota has refined differential and exclusive control maps to reduce understeer during turns. Larger Brembo brake discs improve braking, and cornering grip is enhanced via a revised camber angle of the front/rear wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The 2026 GR Supra MkV is scheduled to arrive at US Toyota Dealerships in Spring 2025, with the model’s fifth-generation production ending in Spring 2026. Alternatively, the GR Supra A90 Final Edition in Japan and Europe has 429 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful B58 engine-equipped car from BMW’s factory. The B58’s usage stems from Toyota and BMW’s collaboration on developing architecture and components for the GR Supra and BMW Z4.

Final thoughts

The 2025 GR Supra starts at $56,250. Nissan’s Z NISMO is the GR Supra’s primary competitor and holds a base price of $66,890. Regarding standard versions of these models, Nissan sold 3,164 Z examples in 2024, while Toyota recorded 2,615 GR Supra deliveries. Moving forward, time will tell whether Toyota can level the playing field with Nissan through the upcoming release of its GR Supra MkV Final Edition. The Japanese automaker is already working on a sixth-generation Supra, which will remain rear-wheel drive. However, we’re still waiting to see what engine it will use.
